Operations Hub

Overview

The Operations Hub centralizes internal tools and work within and across teams at Specialized Realty. Many workflows begin their lives in the hub. Used Claude Code to assist with feature development and security reviews. To let employees help themselves I hooked up an MCP server hosted on the same Azure App Service instance pulling in what they are authorized to see. AI is also used to drive features within the hub such as document classification using pregenerated prompts with guardrails to keep token usage in check.

• Automatic tools for managing delinquencies and insurance policy remediation
• Centralized daily task tracking for work within and across teams
• Unified AppFolio, Yardi, and proprietary internal data in a Postgres database for use via the hub or MCP
• Form generators that prepopulate forms, generate documents, solicit internal approvals, then send completed documents where relevant (DocuSign, Yardi, AppFolio, SharePoint, etc)

Implementation

• Built the web application with Flask and deployed it on Azure App Service
• Used Azure Database for PostgreSQL for data storage
• GitHub Actions for CI/CD and smoke testing
• Integrated Entra ID authentication and hardened internal and external access controls
• Integrations with Microsoft Graph, Yardi, AppFolio, Zego, Twilio, Azure Logic Apps, and QuickBooks

Outcome

Saves hundreds of person-hours each month while improving the quality of outcomes. Enhanced business capabilities and automated business intelligence.
