This Very Website

Purpose

I realized I don't have much to show off my development skills, so I figured why not a website? Also how could I resist getting my last name as a .com domain? (I'm genuinely surprised it was still available)

Design and interaction

• Created a responsive dark theme with readable typography and shared navigation.
• Added a typing animation that deliberately misspells and corrects my name, followed by a nickname reveal.
• Built a Windows-style notepad with editable text, comment highlighting, dragging, resizing, minimizing, maximizing, and closing.
• Adapted animations for reduced-motion preferences and kept controls accessible by keyboard.

Implementation

Astro generates static pages from shared TypeScript data collections. A Cloudflare Worker handles contact submissions, with Turnstile verification, field validation, a honeypot, and rate limiting. The recipient address stays in private server configuration rather than the public site.

Development

Developed locally with Codex, iterating on content, layout, and interactions. Many manual edits and changes because AI has odd preferences (so many pointless eyebrows and too much fluff). The project includes a static production build and automated tests for contact validation, routing, and delivery handling, with deployment configuration prepared for Cloudflare Workers.
